Three great ways to take the WordTeaser Challenge
WordTeasers are a fun way to learn new vocabulary on your own, with a freind, or in a large group. Here are three entertaining game ideas.
1. WT Classic: Gather a group of friends together at a table. The first Player pulls a WordTeaser (WT) Challenge Card out of the box. He/she reads it to the Player 2 on his/her right. If Player 2 answers the Challenge (and shows he or she knows the meaning of the WT), then Player 2 gets to keep the WT Challenge Card. Player 2 also gets to select the next WT card and challenge the Player to his/her right. If Player 3 does not know the meaning of the WT, the Challenge is passed to the next person on the right. Whoever collects the most WT cards in a set period of time wins the game.
2. WT Classroom: In the WordTeaser Classroom game, one person acts as the “teacher” or WordTeaser leader. The Leader pulls out a WordTeaser Challenge Card from the box and reads the WordTeaser Challenge aloud. Whoever raises his/her hand first gets to respond. If the response shows an understanding of the definition of the WordTeaser, that person gets to keep the WordTeaser Card. Whoever collects the most WordTeaser Cards in a set period of time wins.
3. Advanced WordTeasers (for 2-6 players) Pass a WT Vocabulary List to each player (You will find the complete WT Vocabulary List on the WT site—www.wordteasers.com) Player 1 draws a WordTeaser card from the box and reads it silently. Player 1 then gives clues to the WordTeaser challenge question or statement. For example, let’s say Player 1 draws the WT card that reads: “Name a teacher, you most revere.” Player 1 might then say things like: “Mrs. Jones is an awesome teacher.” Other players look at their WT Word List and try to guess the WT on the card, e.g., revere. The Player with the most correct answers wins.
