Recently, LuckySports released “The Golf Bully” from their Adventures of SportsLand bully series of children picture books. In these stories, the happy-go-lucky TeamMates (cartoon sporting goods characters who are positive role models) sublimely show children the importance of discipline, character, playing fair, hard work and team play. The TeamMates not only treat others as equals, but are honest, trusting, and most of all, open-minded especially in today’s narcissistic society. Children look up to the TeamMates’ upbeat behavior along with their leadership qualities that they want to see and duplicate.
A menu-driven CD-ROM included in each hardcover book emphasizes positive message(s) to children that they play to the best of their ability, observe sportsmanship, give respect, and practice teamwork. Children enjoy watching the narration of the story and take pleasure listening to the various LuckySports’ music and songs over and over. A must see on the CDROM are the fun, one-on-one post-game interviews between Mike O’Phone (the announcer) and Coach WIFFLE, Coach TROUBLE, Mr.TweeT (the rules referee), and some of the TeamMates - plus much much more.
Each book contains 32 colorful, picture pages that are humorous cartoons which feature LuckySports’ characters. The characters are in the shape of sporting goods equipment that come alive to play each sport in a mystical, magical world of SportsLand high above all the clouds.
The books are written in rhyme for children eight and under who are just beginning to experience team sports, coaches, fans, players, and bullies! These non-violent stories serve as an excellent tool for parent(s) to start a conversation and to interact with their child about role models, bullies, good behavior, playing fair and most important - just having fun in sports.
Since there are only two teams in SportsLand, LuckySports characters play for either the TeamMates or the Hoo-Doos. The TeamMates play fair – the Hoo-Doos do not! In “The Golf Bully” the main goal for the TeamMates is to be invited to the Great Hall of Fun. The team that wins and has fun gets a special invitation to this special place in SportsLand where there is food, games, dancing, music, and most important praise and recognition for playing the sport fair and square.
Coach WIFFLE is the TeamMates’ role model. He teaches his players in a positive, uplifting way how to overcome the challenges and dirty/cheating tricks of the opposing team. The TeamMates have fun playing under Coach WIFFLE’s guidance. Whereas, Coach TROUBLE of the Hoo-Doos misguides his players to carry-out his cheating ways in order for him to win at all cost. The Hoo-Doos are intimidated by Coach TROUBLE, are afraid of him, and do whatever he wants.
Find out if the TeamMates can overcome TROUBLE and his Hoo-Doos on the playing field.
